Sencha is the most popular green tea and it is the high-quality one. This kind of green tea is made with leaves from the first harvest. From this kind of leave, the tea will have a delicate flavor with a hint of astringency.
Genmaicha is the green tea which is made with medium quality tea. It is combined with roasted brown rice and tea leaves. Besides that, it has a slightly nutty, mild flavor.
Hojicha is made from tea leaves and stems. They are roasted and the process makes this tea have a brownish color. Besides that, this green tea has a strong flavor but it has low caffeine level.
Kukicha is the green tea which is made from stems of tea plant leaf over from making other teas. Even though this type of green tea is made from leftover, this green tea has a clean and light flavor.
Bancha is made with tougher leaves. The leaves come from the second harvest. Besides that, this type of tea is the one that made for everyday consumption. Then, this green tea type has less fragrant but more astringent.
